Sets constructed for the Beckett On Film project using simple natural materials in a theatrical manner

Waiting For Godot directed by Michael Lindsay Hogg

This first landscape was built using many 50 ton lorryloads of shale brought into the studio and sculpted using a JCB digger. The outline of the distant hills was cut from chipboard and road scrapings were heaped in front of them.

Act Without Words I directed by Karel Reisz

This second landscape for Beckett was made using sand heaped over timber formers.
