House
This is a distillation of the essential qualities of a house. It nestles amongst the trees and responds to the weather.
The interior contains a chair, a mattress, a pillow and a blanket. Outside is a stone doorstep with a semicircular area of 'wear' chiseled out of it.
The door is locked. On a sunny afternoon the bright shadow of the window travels across the floor of the house, over the skirting board and the chair and up the wall.
Elsewhere in the garden is a glass fronted board displays a blueprint of part of the house with the following text set out on it:
habitation
house
home
shelter
defense
protection
prison
private
place
quiet
peaceful
lonely
stillness inside
movement outside
Shadows moving on the wall.
Rain dripping from the eaves.
A bed. A pillow. A blanket. A chair.
Sleeping and dreaming in the house
